Helmet origin unknown - eBay (item 200455517158 end time Apr-04-10 14:53:23 PDT)

heres a seldom seen Indian Army non metal M1 style helmet that just sold on ebay, it looks simililiar to the types of helmets used by the Iraqi army.

it's made of some type of balistic high impact thick material, maybe some type of kevlar / fiberglass?

looks like it's a little higher quality than the typical Iraqi M80 helmet

I just found out the first helmet is not Indian, it's actually an INDONESIAN M1 clone

"Developed in 1998 reportedly for East Timor insurgency. The nylon or whatever is about 8mm thick."

Here is a brochure from Polyglass Fibres, one of the Indian firms that makes these helmets, plus an actual example. As others have noted very similar M1 clones are made in Indonesia, Pakistan and also Bangladesh.

First of all, i'm sorry for resurrecting an old thread. But i find an interesting link about this helmet,
it's a link from India Defence Research & Development Organisation. The link is about a bulletin way back in August 1999.
From the bulletin it's indeed the helmet was named "Helmet Combat Fibre Glass".
The material is "Glass of reinforced plastic using 'E' glass woven roving fabrics and unsaturated polyester resin and shaped by matched metal die moulding process".
The helmet was developed in 2 shades, olive green and sand color.
At the time of the article publication, the helmet was equipped for the armed forces, paramilitary, and police.
    I hope this can help.

And what about this Indian Army helmet variant? Is it a relined variant of the M74? I have seen pictures of Indian Orlite 201 helmets with the same cover, but this surely isn't an Orlite... or else that's what I think. This particular helmet is seen worn by many frontline Indian troops post 2012...Indian army helmet non metal M1 style helmetIndian army helmet non metal M1 style helmet
