Looking for any information on this helmet.

I found this in my attic. What research I've done, it appears to be a "Doughboy" helmet? Any information on history, dates, value would be greatly appreciated. There's a stamped "2D 15" or
"ZD 15" underneath the brim. I found an ink marking underneath the head band as well. Its very difficult to tell what it reads.

your correct, it is a US Doughboy helmet M1917

it looks like it's in pretty good condition

prices vary depending on condition or any special unit insignia or original camo

This is definately a ww1 helmet, as battle gear said. In nice condition, great that you found it in your attic! what else was up there?
