Norwegian helmet

Need help please
My friend just found this helmet. I think it is surplus German issued to Norwegian troops after ww2. Not sure about the decal..it appears that perhaps two overlap and were previously overpainted. Would appreciate any information you may have with regard to history and or price. regards

It is what you have described.
These were original WWII helmets re-issued to Norway.........

I paid $25 for one in the late 1970's, and recently saw another
in excellent+ condition selling for $375.

Personally, I would not spend that much on this type.

Nice helmet, if you really want to there might be a chance of un-covering the original paint and possibly decals if you carefully remove the Norwegian post war paint. However it is up to your friend about what they want to do with it, if you do decide to removed the Norwegian paint seek advice on here about the best way to do it
