Here is my Polish Wz50, issued to Syria that became an Israeli trophy.
The helmet shell is marked HS/6/11/1967 and the liner stamped ?.Z.W.? Poznan, 12 STYCZ (Jan I think)1962.
Probably supplied to Syria as part of the re-supply effort following the 6 Day War June '67.
The helmet is covered in art work some of which I have manged to identify.
The black rectangle on the front bottom right, an represntation of an Israeli dog tag, with name and number.
The badge in the middle, right hand side is of the Israeli Engineer Regiment (Handasa).
The trees I believe are supposed to be eucalyptus trees, planted in the Golan heights.
The crest above the trees is the Syrian national symbol.
The back has a cut away piture of a jet engine.
The right hand side the rounded rectangle I believe is a Syrian dog tag, the numbers and writting are in Arabic.
All the rest is guess work, but I would think it sat around an Israeli base, I bought it in a Tel Aviv flea market for $2.50, and the guy thought I was crazy!
Steve.
