    I bought this helmet for a local flea market for $30 not knowing what is was it when it was made and have looked all over the internet trying to find anything about this helmet but, have found nothing. The name reads kowauk. Can anybody identify this please!

    It is a Polish Wz.75, dating from the 1970s. It is the same shell as the previous Wz.70, but with a new improved liner. This was the last version of steel helmet used by Poland.

    Essentially, yes. The shell is the same, new liner. Very similar strap except the buckle end has metal rivets rather than being completely sewn.

    Greg is right.
    There could be also a manufacturer's stamp - inside, on the front.
    "KOWAUK" is "KOWALIK", I suppose.
