WW1 British Helmet

Hello! I bought a British Brodie helmet, it is marked with H.V with a line and what looks like C 41. does anyone know what all that means? thanks!

Well, here are some manufacturers codes. HV is not among them, I am afraid. The C41 is a steel batch code.

Just guessing, HV might be a combination of manufacturer and steel supplier. Possibly there are members of this forum who know more about Brit WW1 helmets.

H.V. i found out is W. Hutton and sons (sheffield) and vickers ltd. (very commonly mistaken for canadian made by collectors)
