As I had mentioned I am on government travel for training at Kessler AFB in Biloxi Ms. Just happens that my uncle Walt is living at the Armed Forces Retirement Home in Gulfport just down the road from me.So this past weekend I went to visit him. I joined the Marine Corps when i was 17 so its been 34 years since I last talked with him. He is a WW2 Navy vet. Served 20 years(42-62). We had a great day there. It's an awesome place with dance hall bowling alley and bar. I have 44 minute recording about his service in the PTO up to the day they pulled into Tokyo bay for the surrender. He went on to serve in the Atlantic fleet and was on a cruiser involved in the Cuban missle crisis. It was an awesome day. A lot of history at the home. Which of course I took pics of. I am currently PC handicapped but when I get home I will post pics. For anybody interested he served on the fuel tanker USS KASKASKIA from 42 till the end . Just had to let the memories of the Greatest Generation This Nation Has Seen live on. ALWAYS REMEMBER NEVER FOGET!
