Strange that thise type of headgear, doesn't get half the intrest a "German rusted m... (what ever!)with parts of a decal" gets...

Life expectancy must have been low for a soldier wearing this type of helmet. What a great target. All that aside, I love seeing examples of earlier headgear. It was quite an artform unlike any other wartime peices. Thank you for showing this one, I like it.

As you said, they must have looked like sitting duck's and they did need the best craftsmanship to be made, not just a machine to struch a iron sheet in to a form.
I love those early headgear and uniforms as well, and concidering that they are harder to find then a DD m36 KM helmet and come at the same price...
A easy choice to me, aldo I like both.
