I obtained the Belgian Order of Leopold 1 - 5th Class (Knight) in silver the other day. The crossed swords donate that it was awarded to a recipient in the military. The medal could be awarded for gallantry in the field, meritous or long service - or distinguished service to the Belgian state. This particular medal has slight damage to the enamel, but is generally in very fine condition. It is believed to be a WW1 example.

A lovely example. I have never seen one in its box before.
