Northern Sky Entertainment Ltd., a Canadian Television production company, is developing two programs entitled "War Junk" for History Television, a Canadian cable-network. The premise of each show is to tell the story of a World War One battle through war relics. We are very interest in any WWI relics found in connection with the battles of the Somme, France, and Ypres, Belgium. Our focus is on where the relics were found as much as the story behind them. If you have found such items, large or small, or know of someone, please do contact us. If they have a Canadian connection, even better!

War Junk !!!!!!!!!! I don't think we quite see our relic colecting hobby in that light , sounds like another qaulity show.

Sounds like another "junk" tv show. My wife might refer to my collection as "stuff," but even she never calls it "junk." We don't collect Elvis dolls. We collect historical items that saw great personal triumph and tragedy. If they are going to make a show about relics and call it war junk, than I just prefer they not make a show at all.

Oh, am i the only one .....

I agree, i don't know why any collector would want to partake in a TV show that degrades their stuff to "junk". I also foresee that with a TV programme such as this coming on, next time i visit Ypres the fields will be littered with morons with no interest in the history but just "wanting to do what they saw on telly". No thanks.

I have a 1916 German helmet from Ypres. It was wrapped in a long coat and stashed in the roof
    of a barn.
It is one of my most prized pieces.
If there is anyone out there that has any war "junk" they don't want, i
Will gladly take it off their hands.

"War Junk" definitely a poor choice of title for a show supposedly about military antiques, particularly when they are specifically talking about pieces from the scenes of such huge losses of life. My Great Grandfather fought on the Somme, what does that make him according to this shows producers?

Indeed - definitely do not see our collections or relics
as 'Junk'. Can you think up a more suitable name
for the show and get back to us in a
    week or two.........?
    Regards,

    Steve.
