I'm not a WWI collector, but I can't resist a good medal grouping when it comes along. Some people collect the War Medals for their silver content, although if I recall correctly, those issued to Chinese and Indian recipients were struck from bronze instead.

Well when the sun never sets on your empire that's a lot of medals .
These two medals were the very first items of militaria I bought as a 14 year old. Very common of course but beautifully made, as British medals always were.
