    This is the later CEM SBR variant type with 3rd pattern exhale guard,nice piece of kit,do you own it?............

    No, it is for sale and it is at a good price, but when you collect historical relics anything at a good price could mean your getting a not so good relic.

    To be honest its difficult at best to tell,as im no expert,but the first model of the CEM had celluloid lens not glass and the exhale bracket was very wide,the price i shouldn't think would if any be the same as most sellers wouldn't have that in depth of model knowledge,either way its a nice original Doughboy example,there would also have been a size stamped in the middle of the mask,numbered 1-5,best of luck with the buy........

    Should I be worried that there is no number or is that just the difference between the gas-masks.

    They were ink stamps and as these items are nearly 100 years old I wouldn't dwell on it too much,there is absolutely nothing to worry about....

    If you look at the area ink marks should be there isn't any, its completely blank which concerns me..... not even a smear. (My intrust with not physically seeing this object is probably making me this concerned ).

    I'm going to buy it when I get the chance. (and if its fake I have a new reenactment piece).

    Will let others bash me if I'm wrong, but this piece isn't a fake. Would cost more to fake it then to sell it for LoL!
