Hello all,
Recently my grandfather handed down some items that belonged to my great grandfather Ebenezer Reid who served during World War I.
This is a piece of shrapnel that he carved a message upon, before sending it home to his family. It reads; "BEST WISHES FROM EB, MESSINES 7 -6 -1917.
Please let me know what you think! Also, if anyone can figure out what this piece of metal would have been attached to or used for prior to becoming shrapnel I would love to hear those suggestions! It is driving me nuts thinking about what it could be!
Thanks guys!
-Joshua
