    Hello all,

I’m hoping someone can tell me if the SD cap pictured is Great War period or not. I bought it in the UK during the mid 80s from a London dealer as being Great War period.

The lining inside is black cloth, the sweatband is American cloth, the buttons are GS and it’s had at least two badges as there’s as hole for a slider, the current badge being the pronged type. The peak measures just over 50mm at its longest point.

    Thanks
    Tony

Hi Tony, the more I see this one the more I think it is an early example.

The chinstrap is correct for great war examples.

That's encouraging Jerry, I know things like buttons and chinstraps can easily be replaced but they look like they've been there a long time.

    Jerry,

One or two of the photos are visible but the majority aren't.

It is free to join and is a useful place to belong to if your interested in Brit badges and related, though like the GWF can be a bit slow to get an answer sometimes or even completely being ignored is not unheard of.

All sorted but I'll have to have a proper look later. At the moment, after just a quick glance, I'm a little concerned about the cloth liner.
