Help identify this soldier

Article about: Could someone tell me of what nationality and time this soldier belongs to? I'm not sure myself, but WW1 seems to by my best guess. I own the photo; it was given by a family member. The colo

    Austrian Uniforms were state regulated so I would be inclined to agree with the boys that it is Austrian. But stay away from that Crimson Mist, lots of dodgy TR militaria.

    definately Austro Hungarian and most prob a cavalryman .

    Rob...I do believe you've nailed it! The huge breast pockets were throwing me off, but take a look at This photo! A different rank and not cavalry, but looks pretty much spot on to me! Nice call!
