ID a Trench Knife

I hope you guys dont mind if I ask your help in I.D ing an old trench kinfe. See photos

It does not have any markings on it. Do you know what country this from and what is the market vaule ?

Hi Edith, welcome to the forum!

The knife appears to be a field made item. I have seen very similar ones before. It will will be Allied, either US or British. Do you have a scabbard for it? I can only guess at a possible market value.

it looks like an american Trench knife, more pessefic: M1917

Hi Vincent, the true US M1917 issue trench knife has a cruiform shaped blade (I used to have one in my old US collection). I would strongly believe the on you show is some kind of modern knife loosely based upon the wartime design.
