Hi everyone, just got back from my local antiques shop with several pieces for which I paid very little, including this rather nice strap. Does anyone know what the strap was used for? Also what is the stamped marking on the back?
Many thanks, Doug

Looks like a bedroll strap that got some additional trench art added, only a guess.
Probably been re used for holding up a pair of trousers at sometime or another I reckon.

In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
Looks like it might be (I emphasize might be) a P14 shoulder brace that has been personalized and has a buckle added.
