    Hi

    Its cold and I am currently snowed in. So I treated myself to a new medal pair.

    Pte J. J. Brookes 28542

    1st Battalion Royal Warwickshire Regiment

    Killed In Action on 30th August 1918

    Remembered At The Vis-en-artois Memorial France

    I will keep you updated during my reasearch.

    Bit of an update. I had miss read the name and it is actually Brookes.

    Here he is on the CWGC website:

    This is what the 1st Battalion was up too during World War One (part of the 4th Division):
    The 4th Division in 1914-1918

    I have just found something which truly sent a shiver down my spine. It seems he was not the only one to die that day, and in fact a shocking amount of men were killed from the 1st Battalion on 30th August 1918.
