Lafayette Escadrille pin - ask for help
Hi guys,
I would like to ask you if you can help me with Lafayette Escadrille pin (indian head with swastika) which is marked 116 on the back side of pin. My question is if it is possible to find the owner of this badge, if there were any regulation like who came first received pin with number 1 etc. I do know know if this pin is rare or not but to find owner if it is possible would be good.
I have found only pin who belonged to Charles Heave "Carl" Dolan Jr. which is on the national museum of the air force site but there is not picture of back side (if there is any number). Other info I found is that during the existence of the Escadrille, 224 Americans served in the unit.
Any information is welcome. Thank you.
Mike
