A quick search has found this: M1 was in Istanbul for the signing of the peace agreement with Turkey

    Looks like Istanbul to me?
I think that's on the money. I did a bit of a Google also, and found it was there for the signing of the Armistice.
This modern photo is taken from the opposite direction back towards the wharf.

That would explain all the pointy bits. Not a pyramid at all.

Here is a nice image of a Holt towing a tracked trailer without sides and a load of locals. You can make out the caterpillar Army mark on the rear of the Holt's canopy. Image is courtesy of the University of Newcastle (Aust. Pat.). Rod

From the same source as the previous post is the image of a "T" Model Ford on the bank of the Black Sea. It belongs to one of the LH Units and you can just make out the LH feather in the slouch hat. Rod

Nice photos of the Holt and motor car. Those tyres seem to dig into the surface a bit. It looks like they might be stuck and waiting for a tow. There's a board or a piece of tin under the back wheel.

    Cheers, Willie.

This one's a bit grainy but it shows a relaxed moment enjoying lunch in camp.

I'm guessing the bottles of beer are some type of Coopers, possibly Coopers Pale Ale. Definitely a barrel on the label.

    Cheers, Willie.
