Can anyone make out the shoulder title?
at first i thought it could be the embroidered title of a French Horn over "OXFORD" but i'm now not so sure.

    Hello Ed,

This is not my subject of expertise but I would go also for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, what most people seem to have missed is that the Photograph was taken in India.

The 1st Battalion was stationed in Bangalore between 1882-1887, whilst the 2nd Battalion was stationed in India between 1886-into the 20th Century.

If I am wrong, I will hold my hands up and apologies for taking up your time.

    Best wishes

    Andrzej
