Default M15 Adrian Officer Infantry Helmet

Here I have an M15 infantry helmet which has the braided strap associated with officers. Officers were not provided these braided straps but had to purchase them and so not all officers wore these straps. If an NCO or a private had the money they could purchase and wear one of these straps. So not every example means it is an officers helmet. This helmet was manufactured by Cie Compteurs of Paris and has the 2nd pattern liner with the 6 tounges (1916 onwards). There are no visible markings on the liner to size it. Thanks for looking guys.

    Interesting information.
I would have assumed that the helmet had been messed with.

Is it the braided strap why you think it's been messed with?
