Mottos 17th Lancers

Here are my 17th Lancers Mottos or Chads, not sure which applies, I have two Possible WWI examples, one smaller then the other. I was told these were worn on the the sleeves of Sgt’s and NCO’s also on officer caps, so I guess one is a hat Motto and a sleeve Chad . I’d like a date on the brass example if possible.The Silver example was dated as a WWl so I posted them here.
