Need help identifying soldiers in tintype

I am posting this in this section because frankly, I have no idea what these men were. Can anyone identify the time period and/or uniforms of these soldiers?

I was so concentrating on the picture, that I thought I saw 'Zorro' in the top left corner.

I have no idea what period, but a nice and interesting pic though.
