Original US M-1918 Trench Knife Scabbard?

Hello
I was wondering if anyone could tell me if this scabbard is original WWI issue or not. There are no markings that I could find on it. I will really appreicate any help.

Not original in my opinion.

This is not the pattern for an M1918 knife either.

I auctally have a blade from a m1918 trench knife and it fits perfectly into the scabbard. Do you think this is a military issue scabbard?

Might it be a cut-down job?
In the sense, that it has several features seen in much longer bayonet scabbards.
A full size scabbard could have been cut down to fit either a regular sized knife or a cut down bayo...
