Today I found this very old canteen flask in an old barn in France. The farmer gave it to me, and told me it was very, very old (as if I couldn't see that from the state it's in!), maybe even 19th century. The bottle and its cover have a faded blue color, so it might aswell be from the horizon blue army period, but i can't find a match anywhere on the net. It looks a bit like the wwI Americain ones, but its not as round. Even some Belgian wwI canteen bottles look a bit lik ehtis one, but than again no perfect match.
its in poor condition due to the moth damage, and missing its stopper. Not worth much to many colectors, but I like the original look of it.
Anybody have anything on the item? Age, which army?
Thanks for any input!
