Pre WW1 Unidentified Badge???

Article about: Hello I picked this up from a local flea market, I have never seen anything like it. The enamel appears to be hand applied leading me to believe that it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s

    Hello I picked this up from a local flea market, I have never seen anything like it. The enamel appears to be hand applied leading me to believe that it is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. I know nothing about it if anyone has any info on it I would be very great full thanks for your time Sean

    I'm not sure either but could it be a WW1 ruptured duck?

    Now that's I thought but it is more like a hat badge and is the size of an enlisted men's badge

    I speculate that the 13 stars represent the original 13 States of the American colonies...

    I am sure it is US but not sure the cause maybe even earlier than I thought

    With the position of the wings and the head pointed up like it is, it looks quite similar to a "Phoenix"...

    I don't believe it is US military, but could be for a uniformed civilian organization. Such as The YMCA, Salvation Army, or one of the many other civic groups from the period.
