    thanks jerry ,is there anything you could tell me about this type ,what metal is the outer ring ,i have the brass economy version what would this bi-metal one be designated

    It is the "normal" WWI period bi metal produced prior to the introduction of the economy all brass version.

    ok many thanks jerry ,i noticed this one also has the crimp mark on the clip like you mentioned on my economy version would the outer metal design be silver plated ? cheers james

    Probably nickle plated on white metal.
