    I think it may be a first pattern cap badge of the Queens Royal West Surrey regiment (judging by the silhouette they seem to match up fairly well)

    No problem mate, those blurry cap badges on old photo's can be a real pain to make out sometimes!

    I don't believe that the unit is an infantry battalion, since the subject is wearing a cavalry bandolier.
    I'm no good at linking photos, but it could be the Canadian Alberta Dragoons.
    If anyone could post a photo of their cap badge, it would be most helpful.

    I don't think it is, the banner is not the shame shape as the one seen on the badge in the photo and the silhouette of the leg's don't match up:
