Webley holster ?

Article about: I think this is a Webley holster but I have not seen one with the brass hanging clips before, am I right thinking it is for a Webley.

    I think this is a Webley holster but I have not seen one with the brass hanging clips before, am I right thinking it is for a Webley.

    I have a similar holster with brass hardware , but it's not connected in the V pattern of yours .
    I was told it was for the 455. Smith & Wesson , supplied to the British during WWI .

    Its a private purchase holster, as almost all WW1 officers equipment was privately bought. It will probaly take the MKVI .455 Webley or S&W .455.

    This variation would be more comfortable for mounted officers than the regular leather loop.
