WW1 American Soldier?

I've had this photograph for a few months now and have no idea what era it is from. I don't know if it's from Pre-WW1, WW1 or even post WW1.

Any help is appreciated!

Hard to tell with this picture,but I would say post ww1( 1912)

US soldier most likely 1917 or 1918. The US Army changed buttons from black to gold in 1919 and even tho they were authorized a wear out period most were converted prior to late 1919.
