    In 1916, a French-Catholic woman named Claire Ferchaud claimed to have had a vision of Jesus, telling her that the Sacred Heart of Jesus should be placed on the French Tri-Color for Protection & Victory...This was popularized for morale-purposes and these little flags were provided for the troops....
