A recent pick up... a Heath & Co three ring sextant - which according to the certificate, was last calibrated on December 8th 1915. All lenses are present, as is the screw-on sun filter. The inside of the lid has had a small section cut away so that the wide angle scope can be left in it's mounting with the lid shut. I can't make my mind up if the frame is brass or bronze, but the whole lot was covered in green verdigris when I obtained it. Apart from removing that I have no intention of polishing it - other than the wooden box, which will be given a coating of beeswax. All optics are clear, and mirrors and filters are in excellent condition. Click on pictures to enlarge.
Cheers,
Steve.
