American.
Yes, they are WW1 I know for sure
Any idea on the value?
Easily researched on the internet. We are not appraisers.
Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam!
Ok, I did research the medals on ebay, I can only find new medals, not one that has been engraved, I also looked up his citation to see why he received it, thanks for your help.
The Victory medal and one of the ribbons are WWI
- the Distinguished Service Cross and Silver
Star box are from WWII.
It's likely that the Victory medal ribbon has been
replaced, and it could be that the DSC and SS
medals are modern version. Your pic of the
DSC reverse does not show the clasp........

Steve.
Thanks Steve, according to his citation he received the DSC in 1918, (see link below)
but someone told me it is not his original medal, it is a replacement medal likely from the 1940's..
Just wondering if people collect these? I really tried to research it on the Internet but only found newer medals, I tried googling replacement medals too, just wondering the best place to offer it to collectors, I thought I had one person interested but he wanted the original medal, he was not interested in these...
Thanks again!
Valor awards for Charles Heimerdinger
They will indeed be a tough sell if they're not
the originals.........
