felipe11: I'm late getting to this thread, but I hope this will be useful to you. According to Battle Participation of Organizations of the American Expeditionary Forces in France, Belgium, and Italy (GPO1920) the 6th Marine Regiment consisted of: 1st Batt. Companies 74th, 75th, 76th & 95th; 2nd Batt. Companies 78th, 79th, 80th & 96th; 3rd Batt. Companies 82nd, 83rd, 84th & 97th. The regiment was in the Aisne Defensive Sector, 31 May-5 June 1918 and the Chateau-Thierry Sector, 6 June-9 July 1918. Hope this helps. Dwight

The 5th Marines were attached to the US Army 2nd ID and took heavy casualties in bitter close combat at Belleau Wood.
