WW1 unknown British wire cutter 1915

Hello,

This wire cutter accidentally fell into my hands and is a bit of a puzzle for me. It looks like an interesting item as
I found no information on its mass production. Most likely it is a prototype or a trial design of a wire cutter patented by engineer Tom Emery in 1915 (please refer to the patent application enclosed or follow the link Espacenet - Bibliographic data).
I also searched some information on Tom Emery (Emery, Thomas C) and found that he served in
Royal Engineers, Royal West Kent Regiment and Oxfordshire Yeomanry during 1914-1920.

Presumably, he is also mentioned on the WW2 Mercantile Marine Memorial in London as a Chief Engineer Officer serving at S.S. Boston. Died on 25-09-1942, age 59.
