Hi, could this be original?
1918 dated.
It does look really good.
Thanks
Cheers.

What are your opinions on this 2nd one?
Thanks

Both look 100% to me. I've seen the red patch before but I can't remember what it is offhand. The second one appears to have been tailored also, very nice.

Both are good genuine WWI tunics.

"Much that once was, is lost. For none now live who remember it."
The first one is what is called a model 1912 as evidenced by the double row of stitches 4 inches above the cuff bottoms it is unusual to find one dated 1918. It certainly appears to be original.
The second one is what is commonly refered to as a model 1918. The single row of stitching above the cuff bottom identifies it as such. It also appears to be original.
The other enlisted model is refered to as a model 1917 which has no stitches at the cuff.
There are english made models that were issued to enlisted men also.
When time permits I will photograph the different types of enlisted tunics and post them to the forum.
Nice 86th ID Patch on one of the jackets! Love those WW1 patches lol
