Here's what I did with his SSIs, Dogtag, & collar discs. I purchased a reprint of the Division's "living insignia" photographic print off of eBay and had the items framed around it. It turned out quite nice methinks.

Yes it did, that is fantastic! I will be looking for an original 27th SSI in the near future for the display I am making; still need to finish another project that I am working on. I will have to find a copy of that poster too.

One of my eternal regrets was not buying a copy of the below print when I saw one (I was a teenager then & not that interested) at a local flea market. It was quite large and I have never viewed another copy. So, when I saw the cigar company's cartoon version I did not quibble about.

I love that painting, I was thinking of having a postcard size version of it made in order to add it to my display piece. Where did you find the poster, was it online? Have you done any research on it to determine who created it?

Some good images of 27th Division's items here O'RYAN'S ROUGHNECKS - REGIMENTAL HISTORY I believe the print came in three versions a newspaper double page black & white version, a higher quality black and white version, and the shared color version. The one I saw was the higher quality black and white version. I've never done any searches to determine the artist and publication that produced it.

Uniform with Parade ribbon plus the gas mask were together. Helmet and belt are of the period but did not come with this group.

Wow! Wonderful items, really amazing collection
How did you find the group? Do you know what the background is for the tunic, does the name on the tag say Lt. Cornich?

I've never noticed this before, but on the reverse side of the US WW1 Victory medal, the list of allied nations is a little incomplete, a few "missed the cut", lack of space perhaps.
