This is a helmet and tunic from the 82nd Div. 328th Inf Reg. 328. I picked this up in N.W. Arkansas in the 90's at an estate auction.
The helmet is a razel dazzel como pattern many times seen on 82nd helmets. The tunic , a pre August, 1918, model 18 with patch pockets, has a French made shoulder patch with a heavily oxidized bullion overseas stripes for 12 months overseas duty. The patch is a French made patch with machine embroidery on felt. It has a corporals rank patch, felt on wool.

Steve, again, great items ! especially the M17 helmet, I take it the "cammo" paint job was heavily influenced by the German painted helmets encountered by units of the AEF.
    Prost ! Steve.

You bet the Germans influenced the hell out of those boys. None of the ones I knew ever said the Germans were easy.
