Hi guys I was out of town this weekend and came across this death plaque. We dont see alot of these in the U.S.. How hard is it to find out the the soldiers history. Also do they fake them alot and how do you tell the real ones from the bad. This one was only $35 US . Gary

It think that would be good.

My Dad was in the picture framing trade for 38 years. He said he framed hundreds of these over the years.

They used to be cheap 30 years ago, around £4 each. A local junk/collectors shop used to have a big pile of them. Those days are long gone.

Looks like he fell at GALLIPOLI, one of the 213,000 British casualties........

I think you have a winner there.

This is the really nice thing about WW1 British items in that you can research them.

Gary, super piece of history, especially with the Gallipoli connection, good price, they can on average be around £60 ($100) here in the U.K. and as Ade states, tracable history. A good find especially in the States.
    Prost ! Steve.
