WWI French Glass Photo Slides with Viewer
Article about: I found this at a local militaria store and I have never seen one of these before. It has 29 slides mostly of French soldiers, German prisoners, some American troops, and even a dead German.

Re: WWI French Glass Photo Slides with Viewer
3D viewers were quite popular back when, but yours is for glass slides,
which are likely harder to find than the card versions. A similar type of
viewer was popular in the 50's and 60's - known as 'Viewmaster'.
I'd check Ebay frequently, as there are a multitude of items and you
never know when something like 'antique 3D glass slides'
might show up for sale.........

Re: WWI French Glass Photo Slides with Viewer
I had no idea that they had things like this back then, very interesting and much better than photos. It looks like there is a few glass slides on ebay right now.
Thanks,
Alec

Re: WWI French Glass Photo Slides with Viewer
The Victorians were very much into these stereo scope viewers, scenery and the like. If you have a way i'd make copies from the slides as some of the methods used can fade with time and light and it would be a shame to lose them now.
