WWI portrait of soldier

Article about: A friend of mine might be able to get this for me . Can anybody id the unit and from when . Thank you in advance. Also this is the only photo of the portrait they have . Gary

    Hi Gary. It looks that the uniform and medals are earlier than
    WWI. Likely an Egypt medal ( 1882-1889 ) followed by the
    Khedive's Star ( 1882-1890 ). I cannot make out
    the last one, Khedive's Medal ?

    Cap badge could be the Kings Royal Rifle Corps,
    or the Rifle Brigade.........

    I agree with Walkwolf,pre ww1 possibly Victorian period,see the crown on badge.
