WWI victory medal collection

Article about: By the way the DSC, on Thom's medal, refers to the Divisional Signal Company in the context of South African forces.

    Default WWI victory medal collection

Thought I would share my small collection of WWI victory medals. 10 medals in all, one U.S. with the St. Mihiel, Meuse- Argonne and defense sector bars(which could fall into the 33rd Illinois infantry div, of which I have a helmet also), French, 2 Czech, Romanian, South African, 2 English, Belgian and Italian. The South African and both English medals are named. Still looking to add one from Japan and Greece. There are numerous other makers and combinations and the WWI Victory medal is a whole collecting field all to its' self.

Looks good and I know that some of the countries versions are very rare.

I only have three, all to Welsh regiments, and a mini on a Mons star trio.
    Regards,

    Jerry

Thank you, however I do not need better photos, just the info on the bottom of the Medal. As the Canadian "sign up" papers are on line. if the Medal is Canadian, then I should have the info in under a Min..we are now putting full WW1 Records on line, but that will take sometime..also several WW1 Official War Diaries are on line..however, far fewer than Battns and Units that Served are there, perhaps some are lost to History, or ( hopefully) others are lost in the archives.
I will do all I can to help you with info on any WW1 Canadian Named Medal..and that goes out to anyone else that has one.

    Take Care
