Description: Here's a helmet with an interesting feature to speculate about.
It's been in my collection for about 10 years. For me it's always been a helmet that looks like it was cut from a wounded soldiers head. First of all the chinstrap is cut near the ear (makes sense if you do not want to cut skin to remove a helmet). Secondly the weird staining on the leather on the forehead always made me think the soldier was wounded. That's just my hypothesis.
EF62 - Lot number 4008 - 1938 dated liner band - Rahm & Kampmann chinstrap dated 193x last number unreadable.
The rarer E Jutner Heer decal which was one of the many factory EF decals but also seen less often as a reissue decal on Austrian DD shells.
Soldier initials painted in the dome and a name written on the leather.
