A rare pre war Soviet medical orderly satchel which is asociated i believe to civil defence but i assume could be Red Army used as well. The strap arrangement is complex and allows to be carried as a rucksack as well as slung over the shoulder. Hand Painted Red Cross and Crescent to flap. leather straps and steel buckles and fasteners .
