Check whether the cross is three-piece and whether the core is magnetic or not?
Robert
Hi Duncan,
My first impression is a cast copy cross.
Is the cross a one piece construction or are frame and core separate pieces? Is the core magnetic? The black paint on the frame suggests a one piece construction. But the cross had a hard time so maybe it has been repainted.
The package is interesting. No maker on the back normally is not promising, but the designation looks OK.
I think the package is good, a variant I have not seen before.
The ribbon stands a chance.
Let's wait for the experts with better eyes...
Ah, the experts with better eyes already arrived!
Thank you, Robert.
Centre is not magnetic.
Regards,
Duncan.
I cannot discern with 100% certainty if the centre is a separate part to the rest of the piece, but intuition tells me the piece is all in one, i.e. of a whole, unitary construction.
I agree with you regarding the absence of a maker mark. I think the packet is original period, but this would be easily added...
Duncan.
I'm very sorry Duncan, but this cross is fake.
Robert
Thank you, Robert.
I appreciate your opinion as well as the others.
Regards,
Duncan. ⭐️
