1939 ek2

heres this ek2 unmarked with a long piece of un damadged ribbon.
any thought on certain attributes that may be seen here, that resemble a known firm,

also #4 and #52 makers.... what are those makers? and is under $100 each good price for them each??

It's a 'standard' Steinhauer & Luck framed cross Chuck. This style of frame was used by several manufacturers so unless this one is marked, pinning it to a maker is nigh on impossible.

Maker '4' is Steinhauer & Luck.
Maker '52' is Gottlieb & Wagner.

The price is reasonable at $100 per cross.

what would be the better make s&l or G&W?

The Gottlieb & Wagner is the rarer maker so if the choice came to one or the other, that's the one to choose.
