No problem with it for me, an original EK1. The date matches known and accepted original cores.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

I second that, nothing wrong with this one. Worn, but textbook 65.
Also agree - good EK1 with a commonly seen and accepted core. Shows wear, yes, but I've always liked an award with a little character.
