I know what you mean! But other than that, I think it's a great looking EK2. And as a starters I've bought the book Das Eisernes Kreuz 1939 2.klasse by Mario Alt
I've bought my book on militariafachbuch.com.
It cost me €75 and shipping was €14, but it was definitely worth it. Have a look at the website, they have a lot of very interesting reference books.
I hope you can get a refund on both crosses my friend, they are known fakes.
Regards,
Nick
Hi Nick
Unfortunately not for I got them at auction. I wish I had listened to myself 2 weeks ago when I said I wouldn't buy from auction again!!! £70 down the pan (I should have known at that price for both).
Learning is not so fun sometimes!
Is there a name for the EK2 fake, other than lots of expletives?
Wow, this one fooled me too
But now that I'm looking at the paint of the core I can see that something isn't right. Thanks for the lesson, and I'm truly sorry for you Jamie.
No probs, the core seems like steel underneath the shiny paint.
How many times do I need to punch myself in the head until I realise that I should not buy on the spur of the moment! I'm beginning to think I look a fool posting up all this fake shit since I joined.
I do have some real stuff y'know!!!
All I can say Jamie is, get photos before the auction and post them here.
Perhaps even indicate that it is an auction so maybe members will help quicker.
Ralph.
