EK I that I bought at the second hand market in Stuttgart and my small Group of collections
Hello Adrian,
As what I told you before, I bought two EK I from the same seller at the second hand market in Stuttgart in this March.
But at last, my friend in Berlin told me that:
The EK I 1939 maker mark "51" is a "piece of s**t"
Please check the photos as below:
While the other EK I 1914 maker mark"J.H. Werner Berlin" is a rare one which should be good.
Please check the photos as below:
About my small group of collection, up to now, I have more or less 30 pieces at my hands including EK II 1914, EK II 1939, EK I 1914, EK I 1939 and also repetition clasp to EK II.
Please have a look at the photos as below:
Yes indeed, I need learn much more to further my collections.
As the first target, I hope I can collect all maker marked EK II then I hope to start the collections of all marker marked EK I. If possible, one RK is also planned.
As a hobby, I am planning to edit some information about EKs in Chinese language which might be helpful for others
Have a nice weekend!
Mit freundlichen Greussen
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,
I have moved your post here as it deals with 1939 EKs. I agree your '51' marked cross is bad, I believe there are some more of the same on this forum. You will need to repost the Werner 1914 EK1 back in the Imperial forum.
It would be good if you can post some of your pieces individually too!
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

I would be interested to see more of your EK2 spanges.

Yes of course, I will post more photos of the clasps.
Clasps are the second priority in my collections.
I will try to find some time to take more photos then I will post them on line ASAP

Thanks, Woolgar!
Yes, the small group is growing.
It is not so easy to clear the crosses through the Chinese Customs.
And is is also not so easy to find the nice EK II with reasonable price.
Anyway, the hobby is hobby.
I will keep finding and collecting these lovely crosses & clasps.
At the same time, I am planning to make some showcase for my EK.
The primary idea is :
The wooden frame as a tray
Three rows and six or eight columns per Tay
EVA foam layer for ribbon and crosses
Maybe later In next week I can post some drawings.
Best regards,
Wolfgang
